For this project, our team was commissioned to create a custom walk-in, root-cellar-style refrigerator that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern performance. The goal was to deliver a fully functional refrigeration space while preserving the warmth, character, and permanence of old-world construction.

We designed, built, and installed the enclosure using solid eucalyptus, selected for its durability, stability, and rich visual texture. The construction details were intentionally traditional in character, with proportion, joinery, and finish choices that evoke classic cellar and larder rooms while remaining precise and refined.

Behind the handcrafted exterior, modern refrigeration systems were seamlessly integrated to meet current performance standards without disrupting the aesthetic. Careful coordination between millwork fabrication and mechanical requirements ensured clean transitions, proper ventilation, and long-term serviceability.

The finished space delivers both function and atmosphere, a refrigeration environment that feels timeless, intentional, and built to last, while performing to contemporary expectations.
